Question About Daith Piercing
So, I have three earlobe piercings in each ear, plus a cartilage piercing on one side. In that same side, I got a daith piercing back in July. It seemed to heal really well, and I was about to make my appointment to switch out jewelry and get the daith on the other side pierced. Then, something odd happened.
I think what happened was the seam of the ring got turned and was inside the daith hole. I woke up and had a lot of aching and some sharp pains. That went on for a couple of days. Then, I was working, and the pain was kind of bothering me, so I went to move the ring around, and suddenly there was a tiny gush of liquid, followed by some blood. I think the seam of the ring pinched inside the hole and formed a little pustule. The sharp pain was immediately gone, and now I’m left with a bit of tenderness. Since then, I’ve been rinsing the ear twice a day with saline and making extra sure that the seam is outside the hole.
My question is: Would it be better to wait longer to swap the jewelry? I’m looking to get a captive bead piece, which would negate the risk of the seam-side of the ring getting under the skin again, so to speak. TIA!
